Jackson!

Joy to you! We haven't seen "Hugo" but given your taste in poetry and art, we'll consider that a command.

Much love,

Kaaren & Richard

Dear Hank,

Thank you! It's strange but I've thought of you twice in the last two days, once on talking about the possibility of going to Oslo next year, the other on hearing an Ingmar Bergman story today. I know, I know, Denmark is another COUNTRY, but I still think of you every time I hear the mention of Scandinavia.

I know your adventures continue on the American continent now, but Richard and I hope to see you and Maureen here in Paris or Copenhagen one day.

Wishing you joy and light,

Kaaren & Richard

Merry Christmas from beautiful Phoenix. We have had a wonderful day surrounded by family, a long bike ride in the sunshine, good food and a nap! Happy Holidays to the two of you.

Chere Elena,

Dylan is right: there are no coincidences. I just quoted him on Facebook, a minute before reading your message. What a magical world this is, and yes, we are all so near, and connected.

Love and poetic inspiration,

Kaaren & Richard (who thanks you for the compliment on his photo)

Hi Anner,

Sounds like you had a perfect day. And any place where family is is beautiful.

A nap: what a concept. I think I'll try that. Oh wait, it's time here for sleep.

Much love,

Kaaren & Richard

dawna

p.s. please tell Marley I miss him, too, and look forward to seeing all three of you next summer! :)

Near the Studio Jean Cocteau
On the Rue des Ecoles
lived an old man
with a blind dog
Every evening I would see him
guiding the dog along
the sidewalk, keeping
a firm grip on the leash
so that the dog wouldn't
run into a passerby
Sometimes the dog would stop
and look up at the sky
Once the old man
noticed me watching the dog
and he said, "Oh, yes,
this one knows
when the moon is out,
he can feel it on his face"

Dear Dawna,

We send you back a cornucopia of wishes for inspiration, pleasure and joy, and whatever else your heart desires.

Thank you for your generous comments. And we are thrilled that you'll be in Paris next summer!

Marley was just talking about you--I'm serious. He says he'd like to stroll along the Seine with us if you would hold his paws. But one friend warns us that letting cats run around Paris shortens their lives. Marley disagrees. So we're wondering if we should get a little backpack for him...?

Miss you too, chere amie,

Kaaren & Richard

David!

What an enchanting story/poem! I'll BET that dog could feel the moon on his face.

So great to hear from you. And more synchronicity: I wrote the note to Dawna before reading your post. We were both thinking of animals walking around Paris with their humans. By the way, we walk along rue des Ecoles most days.

Marley sends you a Miouw!

Love,

Kaaren & Richard

So much joy to you both, to Marley, to your readers (yes, in that order).

It's been a wacky Christmas for us this year, but we're all healthy and love each other, and I had a bottle of Chateauneuf du Pape, and I ask you ... what more does a human being need?

Dear Anna,

We send that joy right back to you! A wacky Christmas is what wacky writers love. ...What more do we need? How about seeing you in Rome? That would do it.

Love,
Kaaren, Richard & Marley
